Concerns Over Court Conditions Following Kings Game
Luka Doncic expressed his frustrations regarding the Los Angeles Lakers' court used for the in-season tournament, stating it was slippery and potentially dangerous for players. After the Lakers' win over the Clippers, Doncic noted that the court's condition was evident even during warmups and highlighted the risk of slipping that affected several players. Lakers coach JJ Redick suggested that the court may not have dried properly after an NHL game involving the Los Angeles Kings the day before, which could have contributed to the slippery surface. Despite these issues, Doncic managed to excel with a remarkable performance, scoring 43 points and assisting 13 times. He also praised teammate Jaxson Hayes for stepping in during a skirmish, offering to cover any fines Hayes might incur for his actions. The Lakers secured their place in the next stage of the NBA Cup and plan to address the court concerns before their upcoming match against the Mavericks.
